Sustainability Ambassadors

What is the Sustainability Ambassador Peer Program?

Sustainability Ambassadors organize, promote and deliver sustainability education programming for UBC students. Working closely with the student advisor and the UBC Sustainability Initiative (USI) team, Sustainability Ambassadors (SA) develop life-long leadership skills by organizing and planning events, networking with other sustainability-related student groups and fostering peer support for sustainability education. SA’s raise awareness and develop opportunities for UBC students to incorporate sustainability into their studies.

Program Goals:

  • To raise awareness of sustainability and sustainability education among the student population
  • To identify and promote sustainability education opportunities across campus
  • To encourage student involvement in – and the incorporation of – sustainability into students’ chosen program
  • To discover and develop connections between various sustainability groups on campus and to link these connections with the USI
  • To organize, promote and deliver sustainability-related events

Who We Are:

The Sustainability Ambassadors team is a group of 10 undergraduate students representing various faculties at UBC. What we have in common is a passion for sustainability and a desire to encourage our peers to incorporate sustainability into their education at UBC.
